About your chaplains

About us

A chaplain does not provide a formal counselling service, but is there to listen and take an interest. They will be found almost anywhere in the town, particularly in the shopping areas. On Wednesdays (Trowbridge's market day) town chaplains can be seen in the town centre and will be visiting Castle Place and The Shires shopping areas, as well as both independent and corporate retail outlets.

Chaplains are careful not to interrupt work, but often snatch a few words with colleagues, to be a support and encouragement during the busy working day. If needed, they can make themselves available for longer conversations over coffee.

What you talk about is up to you.

 Who are the chaplains?

Trowbridge town chaplains are a team of people from local churches who are clearly identified by blue “chaplain” jackets.

As you see them around, do say "hello"!

Although a chaplain is a person of faith, they are not visiting to talk about religion but to listen to whatever you want to talk about.

Covid-19 Update: The Chaplains are back!

The Chaplains are back! As the shops are reopening, we return each Wednesday morning to say 'Hi! Great to see you again'
